Initial
ideas for A2 project
My
potential partner and I have decided to make either a five-minute opening or a
trailer to a movie. Whatever idea we choose, we have decided to this time
exploit the comedy genre, as this is something new which neither of us
previously experimented with in our main task for AS level.
· - A film trailer for a buddy-cop action comedy, which would be in a
similar genre to films such as “The Nice Guys,” “Cop Out,” and “48 hours.” The
trailer would depict two central characters, one rookie and one experienced cop,
as they become introduced to one another and are assigned to their first task
together, which is to find a missing teenage boy. They do not get on well, but
it is revealed in the trailer that the rookie perhaps possesses more skill than
the experienced cop.
-A five minute film opening/trailer to a comedy movie in which one character (Clinton Stevens) can not stop making a fool out of himself in front of his work colleagues/ students. He continually trips over things, says the wrong thing at the wrong times and makes inappropriate jokes that no one else finds funny. This would be in a similar genre to comedies such as “Mr. Bean.”

- -A five-minute opening to a mock-horror movie in which the two central
characters experience and witness all the classic cliché horror movie elements.
They encounter a strange man at a gas station who tells them not to carry on
down the road, shortly before their car breaks down and they realize they have
no cell reception. They then encounter a psycho killer, and make very stupid
decisions such as getting out to fight the psycho instead of staying inside and
keeping the car doors locked. They even have guns on them, but instead of
actually using them to shoot down the psycho they use them to hit the psycho in
the thighs. When they eventually blatantly shoot the psycho in the head, the
psycho turns out not to be dead and simply stands up again to attack them
(another horror movie cliché.) This would be in a similar genre to films such
as “The Cabin in the Woods,” and “Scary Movie.”
A good post as is. Develop an introduction as a simple background statement about why you are taking Media A2, what you want from it, and where might you see it being used in your future career?
